2018 ToyotaRAV4 vs Honda CR-V vs Nissan Rogue | Calgary, AB
The crossover SUV segment is hotly contested. The segment contains a number of high-efficiency options brimming with the most innovative safety, convenience, and comfort technologies and potent engines. Three of the top contenders include the 2018 Toyota RAV4, 2018 Honda CR-V, and 2018 Nissan Rogue, but ultimately, the Toyota RAV4 is the superior SUV. Here’s why:
The 2018 Toyota RAV4 offers more choices than the 2018 Honda CR-V and 2018 Nissan Rogue. Starting with the number of models you have to pick from, the RAV4 offers you nine highly-capable models, including hybrid options — RAV4 FWD LE, RAV4 AWD LE, RAV4 FWD XLE, RAV4 AWD XLE, RAV4 Hybrid LE+, RAV4 AWD SE, RAV4 AWD Limited, RAV4 Hybrid SE, and RAV 4 Hybrid Limited. The 2018 Honda CR-V offers you five trims, while the 2018 Nissan Rogue gives you four versions.
The 2018 Toyota RAV4 also has a leg up on the 2018 Nissan Rogue in terms of power. The RAV4’s 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine produces 176 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque while the Rogue’s 2.5-litre I-4 only serves up 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque.
The new 2018 Toyota RAV4 offers superior standard features. For example, the base model comes standard with a CD player and an MP3 player, which are nowhere to be found on the base 2018 Honda CR-V. A cargo area cover is available on the RAV4 but not on either of the other models. The RAV4 also comes with six standard speakers while the CR-V and Rogue each only offers four. In terms of safety, the 2018 RAV4 offers standard front knee airbags; these are not available on the 2018 Rogue or 2018 CR-V. The RAV4 is also available with front fog lights.
